Festive Menu Preview (2nd & 3rd October)

Yes, of course we’re well aware that it’s still October, but we thought we’d just practice being in the festive spirit, so we’ve organized a preview of our festive menus that will be available from late November.

We’ve commissioned our very own tree to be chopped down early (don’t worry, we’ll be putting it to good use in the pizza oven afterwards), and we’ll be decorating it on Tuesday afternoon (you could always pop in to help).

Plus, we’ll have loads of little festive snacks and menu tasters that we’ll be handing out to all those interested in having a free taste. Wash it all down with a free drop of mulled wine, and voila, one festive celebration come early!!

Of course there is a point to all this….we want to showcase what will be available to those looking to book festive parties in December, so we will have the diary to hand, and with dates now fast filling up, it’s worth at least pencilling your event in with us.

Hope to see you on Tuesday 2nd or Wednesday 3rd October!!

New Ideas

fish night on Wednesday night

From Monday 7th May we’ll be running a great new line-up of offers:

Mondayevenings you’ll be able to order a curry and a glass of house wine (or ale) for just £10 and we’ll even throw in a couple of poppadoms.

Tuesday evenings you’ll still be able to bag a great deal with our 2 for 1 offer on main courses.

Wednesday sees the introduction of Fish Night, with a weekly changing British Isles fish special and a glass of Cava for just £15.

Fridays will be Steak Night with a 2 for 1 offer on all our steaks sourced from the British Isles (well, Highfields Farm in East Sussex, to be exact).

Sundays is the day to kick back and enjoy a good old British Sunday Roast.

Our garden furniture goes walkies…

On Thursday morning (26th April) at 6.22am this kindly gentleman reversed his van into our car park, opened the gate at the side of the pub, and promptly helped himself to 24 brand new chairs with a value of £600.

This kindly soul then jumped back into his van and made off with his ill-gotten booty.

Whilst we were a little remiss not having barbed wire all over the place, we had actually become quite attached to our new chairs, and now have nothing to sit on to soak up all the wonderfully good weather we’re having at the mo…

However our friendly thief was good enough to pose for the cctv cameras both at the front and rear of the building, and backed his van up right under the nose of one of the cameras (clearly not the sharpest ‘tool’ in the box).

So if you recognize the van, or know someone who might be trying to flog 24 new chairs, we would be very grateful if you could point him in our direction…we quite fancy a word with him…
